Kalutara Regional Office of Coconut Cultivation Board has been established for providing services to Kalutara and Colombo regions of the Western Province. It provides services in 1319 Grama Niladari Divisions belong to 27 Divisional Secretarial Divisions. It disseminates its services through 12 CDO offices of 12 CDO ranges situated in 29 Agrarian Service Divisions.

The regional office area spreads over 2,297 Km² of total lands. The area under coconut lands are reported to be 18,562Hec cultivated by 10,000 no of coconut growers. The total no of coconut trees accounted to be 2,453,680.

Main Agro Ecological Zones of the area is Low Country wet Zone (WL). The mean annual rain fall is 2300 mm which varies from 2000 mm to 2500mm and the mean annual temperature is 31°C which varies from 28° C to 32°C.
