Jaffna Regional Office of Coconut Cultivation Board has been established for providing services to the Northern Province. It provides services in 657 Grama Niladari Divisions belong to 23 Divisional Secretarial Divisions. It disseminates its services through 3 CDO offices of 3CDO ranges situated in 27 Agrarian Service Divisions.

The regional office area spreads over 986,765 Acre of total lands and agricultural lands occupied 427,100 Acre. The area under coconut lands are reported to be 73,775 Acres cultivated by 315,025 no of coconut growers. The total no of coconut trees accounted to be 3,319,875.

Main Agro Ecological Zone of the area is Low Country Dry Zone (DL). The mean annual rain fall is 900 mm which varies from 700 mm to 1250 mm and the mean annual temperature is 28°C which varies from 24° C to 31°C.
